Captured first place honors with his 51.5 pound coyote
2017 winner – Carl Hartman
Hartline Kennels, Liberty, New York, captured first place honors with his
49.5 pound coyote taken in Sullivan County, NY. Not to be outdone, Carl's
wife, Linda Covart, took 9th place with a 39 pound specimen.
2016 winner – Bob Brown
Three time State Champion Bob Brown, with his 50.77 pound yote. This
coyote also won the Huntington Mills tournament. Great job by Bob, once
again.
2015 winner – Bob Clark
Bob Clark is pictured with his 48.4 pound coyote.
2014 winner – Bob Brown
Bob Brown, Tunkhannock, Pa., is pictured with his 51.4 pound coyote taken
on February 3rd in Wyoming County. This marks the second time in which Bob
has won our State Championship! Bob also took third and fifth places with
46.0 and 43.5 pound coyotes.
2013 winner – Ed Grasavage
Ed Grasavage, Pittston, Pa., is pictured with his 48.6 pound coyote taken
on March 1st ,2013, in Wayne County. This specimen proved to be worthy of
garnering Ed first place in the Springville Hunt and our 2013 PA State
Championship. This marks the second time in which Ed has won our State
Championship!
2012 winner – Bob Brown
Bob Brown, Tunkhannock Pa., is pictured with his 47.35 pound male coyote
taken on February 17th, 2012 in Susquehanna County. This specimen proved
to be worthy of garnering Bob first place in the Mosquito Creek Hunt and
our 2012 PA State Championship. Bob “ran the table” in this year’s
tournament by also capturing 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th places with other
coyotes ranging from 39.55 to 45.4 pounds.
2011 winner – Ed Grasavage
Ed Grasavage, left, is pictured with his 47.7 pound male coyote taken on
January 16th in Susquehanna County. This specimen proved to be worthy of
garnering Ed the 2011 Championship.
2010 Winner - Jack Wentzel
2010 State Champion Jack Wentzel made local news with this 54.8 lb
LeRaysville, PA specimen! A partial quote from his report of the
successful hunt follows: “Today there were seven other hunters that made
it possible for me to take this trophy coyote and I am very thankful for
the efforts of Ron Davis, Dick Ross, Dave Hall, Brian Coleman, Jerry
Devine, Dave Hall, Vern Carr and hounds, Brow, Dewey, Birch, Too Tall and
Goliath”
2009 winner – Sean Cully
Sean Cully, New Bloomfield, received our Challenge Trophy as a result of
taking a 45.375 lb. coyote in Montgomery, New York. Sean is a highly
skilled and life-long houndsman and dedicated supporter of the PA State
Fox & Coyote Hunter’s Association He regularly free casts eight to
twelve hounds on the “outside”. Wow !
2008 winner – Brian Weidner
Brian Weidner, Easton, received our Challenge Trophy as a result of taking
a 50.7 lb. coyote in Bradford County. Brian had the good fortune of
getting this coyote during the Mosquito Creek Hunt which earned him the
first place purse in that prestigious hunt. Brian is a life-long and
dedicated supporter of the PA State Fox & Coyote Hunter’s Association
